High above the roof and tree tops our majestic Wedgetailed Eagles soar, searching for food for their ravenous young. To-day 17/08/08 we finally got to see the newly hatched chick, because of the cold weather and chilling winds, the chick was protected by both parents over we think the last couple of days, hatching was due on the 14th.
Progress will be updated as the chick progresses. 02/10/08 The Eaglet is now just over 6 weeks old & starting to look like a Juvenile. The wings over the last 8 days has started to metamorphose from the down of a young chick to the adult wings it will use to fly, its diet has consisted of Cockatoo and wallaby, (have seen the legs of 2 Wallaby's, one small & the other a larger one) . Photo's below are the last 8 days.
